The Saxonvilla Guest-House

The Saxonvilla Guesthouse is a detached stone built house, offering good traditional bed and breakfast facilities in pleasant, unspoilt surroundings. The house was built in 1897 and is situated on Thorpe Lane, between the top of Robin Hoods Bay, the village of Fylingthorpe and Whitby only a short drive away.

All rooms are spacious, comfortably furnished, having central heating, H&C, tea/coffee facilities, colour televisions, some are en-suite, all have superb views of the sea or countryside.

A traditional full English breakfast is provided, (with alternatives for vegetarians), in our breakfast room, or a lighter breakfast  is available on request. The Saxonvilla Guesthouse is a non smoking establishment and off road car parking is provided.

The picturesque village of Robin Hoods Bay is only a few minutes pleasant walk away, where one can find a number of local shops, cafes,  public houses and tennis courts, bowling green are available to the visitor.

The old fishing village is famed for its smuggling, seafaring history and hosts a museum as well as an aquarium. Access to the beach can be gained from the the village.

Robin Hoods Bay hosts many  walkers, family holiday makers, couples taking that weekend break, all enjoy year after year the wonderful North Yorkshire Moorland walks or attractions such as "North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway",  "Hearbeat" country, Bram Stokers "Dracula" not forgetting Captain James Cook and "Whitby", all just a few minutes drive away.
